Heuriger 2019 Weather information


We got the information of this year’s heuriger from Mr.Alexander Zahel who is owner of BIO weingut Zahel in Vienna.

Weather information 2019:
Bud break started normal end of April. In May we had very cold and
rainy weather which delayed the growing season but was very good
for the vines. June was perfectly dry and sunny but ended with very
hot temperatures around 38°C. July and August brought such
perfect continental Austrian summer weather. Therefore, the grapes
could ripen slowly and without any stress. Cool nights in the second
half of August developed intense Aroma like citrus and green apple.
Harvest started 2 weeks later then 2018 beginning of September.
This year Wiener Heuriger 2019 will show fresh fruit, crisp acidity and
elegant vibrant complex finish. Red Heuriger was harvested on
September 11th and shows ripe cherry fruit with smooth tannins and
long, complex, well balanced finish.
